Kimberly Brazwell
CEO/Founder

Kimberly Brazwell is a two-time TEDx speaker, author and the CEO and founder of KiMISTRY.

Brazwell  holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication from Ohio University and a Master of Arts in Educational Policy and Leadership. She has received leadership training from the John Glenn School of Public Affairs’ L2000+ Leadership Academy as well as the highly regarded Chair Academy leadership program. Brazwell is a trained facilitator in the Art of Hosting through ALIA and has received training on the Courageous Conversations About Race protocol via Pacific Educational Group.  She has also received various trauma and resilience-specific training including OSU Wexner Medical Center STAR Program BEST Training, CARE Coalition trauma training, NICABM virtual trauma and resilience training and a two day in-person training with Bessel Van der Kolk, acclaimed author of The Body Keeps the Score.

 In addition to her work with KiMISTRY, Brazwell supports several youth and young adult-focused resilience and creative initiatives. She also served as one of the founding members and facilitators for the ADAMH-funded Black Community Ambassadors Support Program which focuses on mental wellness for Black helpers. She is the author of Browning Pleasantville, was a contributing author of Implicit Bias in Schools with a chapter entitled, “Practical Application of Implicit Racial Debiasing”. In 2023, Kim created the journal workbook series Jotnal Books, featuring the Phoenix Edition, the Supernatural (Teen) Edition and is now completing the Manifest (masculine) Edition. Brazwell has had the honor of performing two TEDx Talks – “Over, Under, Around and Through Trauma '' & “Crazy and Black and Poor”.   Brazwell is a highly requested coach and speaker whose passion for healing is rooted in personal and family journeys through trauma to resilience. She uses creative outlets including visual arts, writing and media projects to dispel stigmas and build power through narrative (re)creation.

  • Mikka Abbington

    Title: Coach

    Specialty: Empowerment Facilitator. Life Transition Coach.

    Short Bio: Mikka Abbington, native of Columbus OH is the visionary behind Mikka Renee Coaching. She specializes in guiding women through pivotal life transitions. With a rich background that combines a decade of coaching expertise in both life coaching and IT Management, Mikka's approach is both insightful and nurturing. Mikka is a Certified Professional Coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

    Her path to becoming a life coach was influenced by her own personal struggles through infertility, followed by the challenging yet transformative experience of the birth of her micro-preemie twins. These life events did more than just steer her towards her calling; they initiated a journey of healing from childhood trauma & self-discovery. This period of immense personal growth led to an awakening of self-awareness and acceptance, shining a light on the power of resilience and the importance of embracing one's own story. Through this journey, Mikka discovered her purpose & passion in guiding others through their most challenging transitions, armed with a newfound understanding and empathy for the complexities of healing and growth.

  • Angela L. Harris, Psy.D

    Title: Coach

    Specialty: Mental Health Empowerment Coach. Childfree Lifestyle Empowerment Coach.

    Short Bio: Dr. Harris is a graduate from the nation’s 1st HBCU, Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wright State University and currently serves as the Assistant Dean of Students at a college in North Carolina. Dr. Harris, is the founder of Harris 316 Consulting and Services LLC, she is dedicated to fostering mental health and wellness within Black communities. Specializing in workshops tailored for Black churches, she integrates the essential components of mental health, faith, wellness,

    and spirituality. Dr. Harris mission is to empower pastors to address mental health openly and actively promote therapy within congregations, thereby reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues. With a commitment to holistic well-being, she strives to uplift

    individuals and communities through meaningful dialogue and actionable strategies.

    Additionally, Dr. Harris is also the Visionary and Founder of No Bibs Burps Bottles, an online community and brand that empowers, highlights, and celebrates childfree African-American/Black women to live their best childfree life. Dr. Harris has been featured on a variety of media outlets such as NPR, Huff Post, Spectrum News, and Scripps News as a subject matter expert on the childfree by choice lifestyle.

  • Nasir Bayan

    Title: Coach

    Specialty: Corporate Wellness, Stress Relief & Healing for Busy Professionals, Speaker

    Short Bio: Nasir Bayan is a Corporate Wellness Expert, Licensed Psychotherapist and Speaker. Before following his passion for making transformation healing and stress relief tools more accessible for today’s busy professionals, he worked in Corporate America for over 20 years as a Business Development Leader, a Licensed Mental Health Professional, and a Leadership Trainer for Fortune 500 companies.

    His work integrates core elements of leadership wellbeing, psychological safety, mindfulness, neuroscience and whole-person learning, all with one clear goal: to help busy professionals, leaders & teams beat burnout + banish stress so they can feel better, stress less and serve with more confidence, more clarity & more calm.

    Whether working in corporate, non-profit, entrepreneur-focused or wellness spaces, Nasir enjoys helping people by equipping them with practical tools for doing inner work that leads to outer transformation.

    Nasir is also a Certified Facilitator, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati and earned his master’s degree from the University of Georgia. Although he is a native of the Buckeye State (i.e., Ohio), he and his family currently call Atlanta, Georgia home.

  • Nicole Rosario

    Title: Coach

    Speciality: Spiritual Coaching, Business Consulting, & Project Management

    Short Bio: Nicole is a Columbus, OH native and Florida transplant with 25 years in business and administrative support. Nicole is an alumna from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Studies in 2006 and she holds a Master of Science in Business Management from Ohio Dominican College in 2012. Rosario was honored to be recognized and featured in Who's Who in Black Columbus in both 2008 and 2009. Her unique career has spanned many different industries including hospitality, personal care, banking, higher education, theater and nonprofit support.

    Most recently, Rosario served as the administrative lead for OOC's leadership team before branching off on her own to do event planning and travel consulting. She joined the KiMISTRY team in 2022 as its business manager. Outside of work, Nicole is an active volunteer with the CMSgt Richard R. Hall Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen Inc. via the Central Florida Chapter Tuskegee Airmen - Then... Now... and Forward... Program. Most importantly, Rosario is a highly involved and dedicated wife, mother of three and devout community member.

    What I love about being an illustrator for KiMISTRY: I love being able to create illustrations that can reach a person’s heart in a way that extends beyond words. It allows room to creatively connect the misunderstood with something that reminds them that they’re not alone and that there’s unity in individuality and that being your own person is beautiful, no matter what differences show up.

    Kayla T. is a New York City native with an educational background in Communications with a multifaceted expertise in marketing, operations, branding, and business development. As a Creative Director and Business Strategist, Kayla has become the cornerstone for passionate entrepreneurs seeking to innovate and elevate their brands. With a track record of aiding over 60 brands in refining their business strategies and adopting a creative lens for branding, her impact is undeniable. At the helm of Pretty Entrepreneur, Kayla's mission extends beyond business success; it's about nurturing a community of black entrepreneurs empowered to craft brands that resonate with their core values and aspirations.

    Beyond her professional pursuits, Kayla's commitment to societal well-being shines through her volunteer work as a mental health advocate—a testament to her holistic approach to success, which balances career achievements with community service and personal well-being. Whether she's exploring new cultures through travel, cherishing moments with loved ones, or indulging in the latest mystery series, Kayla T.'s life reflects a blend of relentless ambition, creative passion, and a heartfelt dedication to making a difference.
