The KiMISTRY Chosen Family Reunion is a full three-day intensive trauma-informed holistic wellness and restoration retreat experience for individuals who seek healing in community with others.  The event is designed according to the cultural aesthetic blueprint of a family reunion (parties included!) with the added benefit of wellness workshops, group sessions and access to individual coaching and counseling sessions facilitated by healing and wellness experts.

KiMISTRY believes the lived experience of a social unit we typically call a “family” is less about a blood or genetic connection and more about the relationships with folks with whom there is a mutual investment of love – 

in action.  We honor that, for some, blood family members have been the source of our stress, trauma (multiple forms) and dysfunction.  In fact, some of us have wounds from which we need to heal that were caused by family members.  We don’t have a choice to select the family in which we were born and/or raised.  However, as we get older, we do have the ability, power and agency to choose individuals with whom we want and need to do life, grow and love.  These folks often feel like more than colleagues, acquaintances, partners or friends to us.  They become our chosen family.
